ABC: Dramatic Video Gives Rare Look At Death on the Job in America

Due to technical difficulties, we had to post the dramatic video in the post below titled "Occupational Hazards." Please look below for the video.

Last night ABC passed a short segment on America's hidden national tragedy- the large number of workers that die every year. "More Americans are killed on their job in this country every year than the number of soldiers killed in the war of Iraq in the entire seven years." This is completely unacceptable and should not be taken lightly.

According to the Department of Labor, 5,214 people were killed in workplace accidents in the United States in 2008, the most recent year for which figures are available. It is an average of about 14 deaths a day. In our opinion, 14 deaths too many.

Along with their segment, ABC played a dramatic video (post below) of an Oklahoma man being pulled to his death in an industrial clothes dryer, in Tulsa, while working at Cintas, the country's largest laundry company.
